Who We Are

Orchid works with each of our supported communities to help them reach a point where they no longer need outside assistance. All our grants are provided for this ultimate outcome. Schools must eventually support themselves, communities must feed themselves, children must learn the necessary skills to transform themselves into productive members of their societies. When we launched in 2012 we supported 13 programs on four continents. All but three of them no longer need our help. We are proud of that track record and won't be satisfied until every project no longer needs us. Until then we continue to engage with new requests from new dreamers and help live them.

How We Work

Orchids of Light employs a multifaceted approach to raising resources—material, moral, intellectual, and physical capital—to support our partners. Each project undergoes rigorous evaluation to ensure it meets our standards, allowing us to either directly fund initiatives or help raise the necessary resources.
